The Book of Jasher is mentioned twice in the Old Testament (“Jasher” means “justice” and is not the name of a person). And this version is generally accepted to be as accurate of a translation as there is. It is a telling of the history of the House of Israel from Adam and Eve through to the death of Joshua. Comparing it to the current Old Testament is interesting. For many stories there are much more details in the Book of Jasher than we find in Genesis. We hear more about the personalities of the major players in the books of Moses, like the sons of Noah or the sons of Jacob. It is this life given to the individuals that makes this a truly interesting read.
